With spring on the horizon, it’s natural to revisit, revise, and resolve to spruce things up in the coming months. Similar to “resolutions,” the choices we make each spring are really goals, and working towards and achieving our goals is a sure way to feeling accomplished and fulfilled. Whether you’re looking to reinvent your life or just make a few small but important tweaks, here are some starter ideas to help you make your own “decorating resolutions” – and design the coming months to be your best yet.

Start with a clean slate. The most economical way to make any home look brighter and better is to clear out what’s no longer necessary. Take a weekend to tackle the home office, attic,  basement, or crammed closet. Inside Manhattan's $90 Million Mansion

Four days wasn't enough advance warning to truly prepare us for this, but folks, the moment is here: Manhattan's $90 million mansion has officially hit the market. The 35-foot-wide townhouse at 4 East 80th Street, with its 10 bedrooms, 11.5 bathrooms, and 3 kitchens spread over 18,000 square feet, was purchased by late gym mogul Lucille Roberts in 1995 for $6 million, and her family is attempting the resale now with hopes for a slight profit. If those photos aren't enough, townhouse superbroker Paula Del Nunzio brings all her powers to bear on the brokerbabble, which goes through the history of the landmark house starting with its design by C.P.H. Gilbert for Frank Woolworth's middle daughter. Del Nunzio neglects the house's role in the French Revolution, when an angry mob stormed the building in search of Marie Antoinette.

Would You Buy This Idaho Snake House?

It was a story to gladden the heart of an editor or blogger facing a slow news day: The nice-looking little house had been marked down from $175,000 to $109,200 because it was infested with ... snakes. Adding to the fun was the fact that the Rexburg, Idaho, home was located in the Snake River Valley. 

 

But the former owners weren't laughing. They, like the owners before them, opted to stop paying their mortgage and move out rather than live among snakes.  "It's really hard to rest assured at night, to not think that you've got a snake in your bed," the next-to-last owner told a local TV news reporter.
